President George W. Bush has apologized to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri
al-Maliki and promised prosecution of a U.S. soldier accused of using a
copy of the Koran for target practice, Iraq said on Tuesday.

Ok, I'll be the first to admit that this was certainly a bad idea. I
have no idea what the soldier in question was thinking when he decided
this was a good plan, but I bet he never does it again. At the same
time, I have some issues with what has gone on since! What the soldier
did was disrespectful, yes, but he now deserves prosecution? For what?
Shooting a book? Am I the only one who finds this insane? If someone
were to use the Bible for target practice no one would say anything! I
find this whole thing disgusting! Our appeasement government just can't
stand that someone might be offended! It's really disturbing how far
our government will go to make sure no one has any hurt feelings. And
just think! This is under the Bush administration! Just think about
what would have happened if Obama had been president! Holy Toledo! It's hard to even contemplate! We might have been stringing the poor guy up by his thumbs!
